Welcome to Endanda eco

Where every space in a home matters in terms of saving life in Kasese -Uganda

School children face the highest risk of hunger and its devastating effects during class hours. A hungry child cannot concentrate, learn effectively, or reach their full potential. Nutritious food fuels their focus, strengthens their bodies, and builds the brain power needed for learning and growth. Without proper meals, children are left weak, distracted, and unable to thrive. By providing food, we are not only feeding a child but also nurturing a future leader, unlocking potential, and giving every learner a fair chance to succeed.

Young students in Kitgum, Uganda, enthusiastically participate in class, raising their hands with smiles.

Who we are

Endanda Eco is a community-based initiative born from lived experience   turning the pain of hunger into the purpose of food security.

We believe that every family, no matter how small their space, can grow something that sustains life.

What we do

Endanda Eco empowers communities to grow their own food, protect nature, and build resilience. We promote school gardens, agro ecology, waste management, and youth skills, turning simple local resources into lasting opportunities for nutrition, income, and environmental sustainability

How We Do It

Projects

Our backyards hold the hidden power to feed families and transform communities. Every small space—whether a backyard, rooftop, or school corner—can become a garden of hope. With proper use of land and sustainable practices, we can grow fresh, nutritious food right where we live. Together, we can fight hunger and malnutrition, promote self-reliance, and empower families to take charge of their own food security.

Vertical gardening

We transform plastic and metallic waste into valuable resources that nourish both people and the planet. By turning waste into wealth, we protect nature, promote urban farming, and create cleaner, greener communities. Every recycled piece becomes a step toward food security, environmental restoration, and respect for the living soil that sustains life. Together, we grow hope, reduce pollution, and inspire sustainable living for generations to come.

Our dream is to have a model village where people accept that food is not born in markets and supermarkets but in every space at home and no child goes hungry.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

The reality is

“Hunger is not only a mere lack of food but also a lack of humanity.” We see hunger as a social wound that can be healed when people reconnect with the land, their neighbors, and their purpose. We see food on dust bins as others go hungry as if we can not share.

  • No child should learn on an empty stomach. Hunger blocks learning, focus, and creativity.

  • Every child deserves to grow in an environment that nourishes both mind and body.

  • Practical eco-education  such as gardening, nutrition, and sustainability  helps children see that food, health, and learning are all connected.

  • Children learn best through doing. When they plant, water, and harvest, they understand science, care for the Earth, and build responsibility.
